Hello everyone!

I was hoping to get some insight on a Shop Fox and Grizzly 12” drum sander. The Grizzly is listed at $435.00 and the Shop Fox at $633.00. By looking at the pictures and spec sheet they seem to be exactly the same.I have other Shop Fox and Grizzly tools, both work fine. Your input would be appreciated.

Shiraz Balolia owns both Woodstock International and Grizzly Industrial. The Shop Fox trademark is owned by Woodstock International. Woodstock International and Grizzly Industrial ship out of the same warehouses. Shop Fox and Grizzly product are usually built to the same specifications with just minor cosmetic changes. Woodstock is the retail distribution side of the company which is why you see Shop Fox products in places like WoodCraft. Grizzly product are only sold by Grizzly. So, you are probably looking at the same sander in different colors.

Just my take. I could be wrong.

Shop Fox are usally a step up from Grizzly. By this is mean, larger motor, larger table , more bells and whisels. Plus, shop fox comes with a 2 year warranty vs. a 1 year on Grizzly.

The grizzly tools I have seem to work very well. If you are going to use it real hard that extra year of warranty might be worth the extra price.
