This is a Keen Kutter, K-6 (not KK-6), bedrock type, with corrugated bottom. I really like this plane, and I would like to restore it, but I need too many parts for it. I will be selling it on Ebay starting 6pm PST tonight (3/8/11). Make an offer to buy and I will take it off. OR make me an offer selling me the parts and I will keep it.

PM me if you want to buy or help restore.

Thanks.

Looks like it is only missing a rear tote and the adjuster wheel/rod.
Have you tried here http://www.highlandwoodworking.com/bench-plane-repair-kits.aspx

Swirt, you ar correct, it’s missing:
1. the blade
2. rear tote
3. blade depth adjuster wheel
4. depth adjuster screw

The blade on this K-6 is 2.5” wide. I have a KK-5 1/2, but the blade from this plane is too narrow.

How about 2-/3/8”?

Granted, it will run you $60 for a the frog kit and blade, plus whatever for a new tote (though they can be hand made). Still for $60 it would be a pretty nice plane.

PaBull- I think I have an extra blade that size and I would sell it to you for cheap. I also have a adjustment wheel and screw that should fit it that I will also sell you for cheap. I would like to clear out some of my extra plane parts..

Send me a msg if your interested.

Thank you Dan, I got your package. It came in yesterday, but I did not have time to post anything. What a nice thing to do to help me out to restore this old K6.

It all fitted perfect, as if it was made for it. The nicely polished frog adjustment screw (I like the later version better, bigger for better turning). The thread for the adjustment screw was also correct. The blade was perfect and sharp ready to go to work. My old cap iron fitted and looked more original, so I will be keeping that one on this plane.

I found another rear handle and refinished it. The rest of the plane will come later. I have a dresser for my wife’s closet that is higher in the list of priorities.

Again Thanks!! Pabull.
