Topic tags/keywords: federal veneer inlay

Here’s a Federal style game table I just completed. There’s a slide show on my website showing the steps involved, if anyone is interested….www.LineAndBerry.com. Click on the game table image at the bottom of the home page to go another page with more info and the slide show. This link might work (not sure)...http://www.lineandberry.com/-6-federal-game-table.html

Folding leaves
Continuous wrap-around cross bandings of Curly maple & Macassar Ebony
Hand-made inlay
4-way book matched burl walnut leaves
Holly stringing on legs and case
Cuff banded, ebonized feet
Cock-beaded drawer with walnut burl front
Felt lined drawer
Sheraton pulls

Thanks for looking & wishing everyone a blessed Christmas season,

A true work of art. Fantastic!

Absolutely magnificent! Such precision! That’s some serious Old World style craftsmanship. Fascinating process using the hot sand to get the gradient color for the inlays.

Is this a commissioned piece or is it for your own personal enjoyment? Did you turn the chess pieces as well?

Ripper,
The chess pieces were purchased. Thanks very much for the kind comments.

Thank you Charles. I’m in Forest, VA, not too far from you I don’t think.
