I have had this wood lathe since 1998. It has treated me well, but know it needs a gear, and a gear shaft and the gear shaft is unavalible on the sears parts page. If anyone knows were I can find one or if anyone has one let me know. I would rather fix than replace. the modle # 351217170 craftsman.

I have needed part in the past that were unavailable on the Sears website, but when I went into the store, they were able to get it on their computer and order it. You may want to try going in to the store. If you can get the part number of the actual part, that sometimes helps them find it faster.

The gear number 3236.00 You can still get but I would need one of them to. The part i cant find is the gear shaft part 3237.00 I priced one to be made at about $400. Thats well on the way to a new one. But i havent given up yet. Would be willing to buy another lathe same modle for the right price just to get parts. Any help would be welcome.
