Is it rubber or metal?

If it is rubber it looks like the vent hose for your rear end assembly.

Hard to tell from your picture since it’s impossible to tell where it’s coming from, but this may be applicable: 04 f150 hose hanging from axle

YEP! From Mrtjnix LINK He Provided.
