Topic tags/keywords: plywood radiata pine

Hi there,

I’m trying to get my hands on some Radiata AC(X) grade plywood. I’ve come across a company that has been mentioned on these forums in the past before—Arauco—that makes the stuff. However over the past few months, I can’t seem to find any after calling countless stores and vendors around—they all say that they’ve stopped receiving from Chile because of tariffs. I’ve seen it at Lowes before, but I can’t find it anymore and the employees have enver heard of it or ask me why I need this plywood.

The stuff has a nice smooth rotary cut look to it on the A side and a decent amount voidless plys.

If anyone knows of a vendor in Central Texas that may sell something like this or gets word of some, I would love to know!

Thank you kindly,
Mack

It was available here in Ms at Home Depot. I haven’t bought any lately. Check out this site. Maybe you can contact them to find who sells it. http://beesoft.samplingproduct.com/distribution/index.asp?qcustid=8340

Bought two pieces from the borg last week. Seems nice enough for the cabinet I am building for the TS. Tested a stain and some paint and both seem to come out okay.

I saw some at the Home Depot in Plano, TX about a week ago. If you go to the HD or Lowes website, you may be able to use their store finder to locate some? Worth a try.

Good to hear it’s in Texas! Thanks for the heads up. I’ve scoured their websites for the stuff around me and haven’t had much luck, even though they say they have some in stock, what ends up happening is that it’s swapped out for another brand and not nearly the same quality—HD in particular swapped Arauco out with their own chinese knock-off with a nice face but 3 plys (for 3/4”) and an invisible vaneer thickness.
