Topic tags/keywords: wood wide boards oak

Had a portable mill come by to cut up some 30+” diameter oak logs, and now I have much more than I need. Freshly cut. I can’t store it all, must sell. Beautiful wide oak planks for table tops, benches, other projects. Planks range in width from 10 – 20 inches; most are about 1 1/2 in. thick and about 9+ feet long. Up to 14” wide, $25 each. 15” – 20+ ” wide, $40 each. Some bookmatched pairs available at different prices. Located in Wilmington, Delaware. 302-438-7961.

Should have mentioned that I believe the wood is pin oak, which I understand is a red oak variety. Some very unusual figuring. If anyone is interested, I can try to post some pictures. Delivery may be possible as well.

I’m interested. Road trip to Western Canada?

Sounds like fun, Randy. Though I had in mind possible delivery say within a 25-mile area of Wilmington, DE. My son’s pickup gets about 15 mpg on the highway, so I think a trip to the Great White North with a load of oak in the back – what could go wrong with that? – might end up being not very cost effective.

But it would be fun… :)
Could you post some photos? I may have another method of transport.

I live up near Coatesville, PA. Where are you in DE? I don’t “need” wood but you have me interested. I might be headed down to Total Wine down off of Rt 7 this weekend.

- 37? Dang, that’s rough, Randy. You must have made someone really mad. At least it’s a dry cold, right? If you can arrange another form of transport – - sled dog maybe? Or a 4WD Zamboni? – - happy to send some your way.

Jason, I am in north Wilmington, between 202 and 95. There’s a Total Wine off 95 in Claymont – if that’s the one you are thinking of, I am about 10 minutes away. If you are going to be in the area and want to stop by, give me a call later this week.

Yes it’s a cold week, but spring must be on the way, I see the deer moving around in the back yard… :)

Man, that’s some purdy wood! Too bad you are all the way across the continent from me.

Jusfine- As far as the deer go, I spent two winters in Idaho back in the mid-70s. Did you pick up those frozen deer (it was -60 where I was at, one winter) to stick in the snow at your place? <suspicious>

Rob, I’m headed down toward Christiana and Newark tomorrow so it’s not going to work out, thanks for the reply.
