In an earlier post Kiefer made the comment that you should let no one tell you your fence is junk. Sorry, Keifer, but
mine is junk—-at least within my understanding of it.

I have a 70s vintage Craftsman flex drive (the identical saw Dakremer showed in his sled blog) and the fence is virtually useless. Dakremer’s sled is a good project, but I do a lot of ripping so I want some accuracy on the fence. Are there any options that won’t cost a fortune?

Hey Clarence

How about a brand new Delta T2 fence? $147 It’s a nice fence and should be able to bolt right up or with minimal work like drilling a hole.

Hope this helps.

There are a lot of people who would agree with you about that entire era of fences on the older Craftsman saws, and a lot people who will agree with ”mrg” about the T2 being a nice bang for the buck.

If you are really concerned about cash and willing to take the extra time, clamp a straight piece of hardwood to the front and back of your TS. An straight edge will work as a rip fence. Question of time or money.

I just joined this site hoping to help others with fence related questions. But i found myself wondering if i need some help :) I work for a fence company in Orlando Fl and the fences we build there everyday look nothing like the Delta T2 fence link i just looked at. Is this a barrier fence?

Mossy, the Delta T2 and others in this discussion are table saw fence guides for ripping wood.
