All of the sudden the mandrels on my jet spindle sander won’t screw in. I’ve called jet, but the info plate is missing on my machine did they say they can’t help. I took it to a machinist to see about re threading and he said the threads looked fine.
Anyone else had this problem? Any ideas?

Maybe left hand threads?

Everything on the top side of my spindle sander is reverse thread. It’s not Jet brand, but likely similar.

By the way, are you saying that the bolts won’t go in at all, or that the spindles are loose once the bolts go in?

Mine’s not a Jet but I had a couple of the mandrels get “galled” on the tapered section which kept them from firmly seating. A file and some emery cloth solved the problem.
