Recently the Old Tools List Serv had a running post about what was on people’s benches right now. I thought it might be nice to see the same thing over here on Lumberjocks!

So I’ll start and hope the rest of you show us what you are up to.

I’m currently building myself a half back saw. I’m using a repurposed saw plate. The folded steel back is the remnant of a mitre saw I cut down and then blued. The handle is a Cresson style that is being made from Bubinga. I think when it is all done, it’s going to look great. As for the performance… That involves the third image which is a gloat as well. I recently purchased a brand new in the box never used Foley retoother. It came with 14 ratchet bars and 12 carriers. So once I finish the basic construction of the saw, I will punch new teeth, hammer set them and sharpen them.

So, what’s on your bench?

Great looking saw, Brent. I have a Prie Dieu on my bench currently. The half back saw I’ve been using has seen better days … LOL!

Glueing up a letter tray. Christmas present for my sister in law. Same dimensions as the Christian Becksvoort one in Fine Woodworking but I’m using up some walnut scraps. First time doing mitred dovetails.

Twin table saw cabinet with storage underneath. Gonna be some time before this gets finished and into operation.
Don’t mind the OSB, used it for mock up purposes and to make final measurement checks for the plywood panels.

Legs for a card table OF. If I ever get back to it. Still have a couple of drawers to make for something else. Then I’ll get back to it.

Very nice Alaska Guy!
