I have to replace the tires on my 14” Jet band saw. Wood Craft has Carter urethane tires on sale. Jim |

no glue is their thing. Urathane is stronger than rubber, lasts longer. here is the instructions….http://www.carterproducts.com/support/UrethaneInstall.pdf |

I’ve installed them on my 18” jet bandsaw with no problems. They last longer and hold up to pressure better. While it is always a good idea to take the tension off your blade when on in use, IMO, it is not as essential with the urethane tires. I usually only take the tension off if I know the saw will be unused for several days. It takes a little muscle and some leverage to get them on. Then you need to “walk” around the wheel to even out the stretching. I was able to put them on by myself with no help and I am a tired old man. -- Rich, Cedar Rapids, IA - I'm a woodworker. Thanks for the help. I bought two Carter tires this morning at my local Woodcraft. |
