Goodmorning, I am wondering if anyone has found a replacement bearing for the Carter Stablizer single bearing guide. I can match up the bearing for size, but not one with a center deep grove. Carter offers the bearing and the shaft for $40 plus shipping. Thanks in advance. Bob

I seriously doubt they are proprietary and are most likely just some off the shelf v-groove bearing that you can get at any bearing supplier… what are the dimensions?

Here are some offered at VXB: Linear Motion Bearings > V Groove Bearings

Cheers,
Brad

You must be doing some serious bandsaw work to wear out that bearing. :)

Randy, I have had this setup for several years. I have been making stools, cutting lots of circles. With 3/16” blade. I was cutting my next to last piece and the blade broke and bearring locked up. After getting the bearing off and cleaned up, there is a small bearing inside of the groved housing. So I was able to push the bearing out and order a couple of new bearing for $1.71 each, compared to the $40 plus shipping that Carter was showing. This Carter stablizer is a really cool addition to my bandsaw.

Probably just as simple to buy there’s. We have a local bearing shop that’s been pretty good matching things, but bearings aren’t cheap.
