Festool’s Domino sure looks like a winner. But the price tag is daunting for a non-professional, although I like the ease of operation and likelihood of not making errors in repeated work. Does anyone have experience (not just an opinion about you get what you pay for… I know that) with either the BeadLock Pro or Mortisepal as alternatives to Domino? I’m particularly interested in ease of use, design sturdiness (robustness), and likelihood of success. Both of these devices look interesting, and I suspect that if they are used properly with attention to detail of setup and clamping, would work fine… and a whole lot cheaper than Domino. Mortisepal is coming out with ability to cut metric mortises soon (so they say) to take commonly available pre-made tenons. If anyone can point me to good reviews on-line, I’d appreciate it. Comments would be welcome… from actual users preferably… before spending my money |
