Looking at purchasing my first table saw. Have been scouring CL within 200 miles of but have not found anything that stands out tome. I am contemplating the two saws listed in the title of this post. The grizzly currently is about 20% off for Black Friday but still costs $300 more than the delta. Read all the reviews of the 36-725 and know there are some problems the Grizzly is so new that there is not a lot of info out there. The big hang up I have right now is that if I get the 36-725 and it has issues I can take it back and exchange it. If I get the Grizzly I would need to pack that beast back up and ship it out. I really like the specs on the Grizzly and the saw seems worth the extra money… If anyone can help sway me in one direction or the other I would greatly appreciate it.

Grizzly is in a different class than Delta. Delta is a lightweight contractor saw with aluminum trunnios and split fence. Grizzly is a heavy big saw that is closer to industrial saws.
I had several Grizzly pieces of equipment in the past including G0715P saw that is a predecessor of G0833P and the customer service is top notch, so I would not consider potential problem with a saw as a deciding factor.
Having said that if you only need to use the saw from time to time Delta is adequate.

How far are you from Lincoln? There is an ad for a “vintage” Rockwell table saw for $250. It is in fact a pretty nice looking Delta Unisaw, and that is a really great price. Even if it’s a bit further away than what you were looking for, it would be worth the drive IMO.

Cheers,
Brad

I’d go with the G0833 over the 36-725, but that Rockwell Unisaw that MrUnix linked looks like a steal!

Have your say...
