I just had a pop up ad from bounce across my screen, saying “click here to take a survey”. I remember reading that this should not be happening and if it does to report it. So here’s my report…..

One thing I will note is that I hadn’t logged on as a user when the ad appeared, but I don’t think it should matter. I also do not have any other tabs open in my browser or any other files open on my computer

I had it happen on my puter a couple of times….It looks like a little round ball. Just click on the “X” and get rid of it…...hasn’t come back on mine in a while…’s just a nusience…....

That is really strange guys because we NEVER run pop up ads. I’ll put in a ticket to get this checked out right away.

Just add “” to your own personal BOYCOTT list. I refuse to support or buy anything from POP-UP ads. I make a concerted effort to AVOID them, so much so that I am considering making a physical list to tape to my monitor.

Ditto on Firefox, but on a PC…

Sounds like a hack job to me…

So far, so good… No pop-ups here… Knock on head (wood)... :)
(but, I’m running the Opera browser blocking pop-ups)

Got it about half an hour ago. Annoying to say the least. Shouldn’t have to deal with that here.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a pop-up. The only ads I’ve ever seen on LJ’s are the links on the top of the page. Running Chrome with ZoneAlarm Free (firewall), avast! free (anti-virus). I use CCleaner and SpybotSD regularly to flush out the adware. Must be working because because I’ve almost forgotten how annoying that crap is. Mike has the right idea about boycotting companies with annoying ads. -Jack

I use the Adblock Plus add-on to Firefox. Just for fun, I turned it off and this page had two annoying blinking ads about credit scores. If I had to see that stuff all the time, I think I would just forget about the internet.

Never had one….running firefox in ubuntu. Its worth remembering that it may not be from lumberjocks, it may be an artifact triggered by a cookie (or something) from another page.

I just had it pop in and decided to come to the forum to see whether anyone else had experienced the same thing. Looks like I’m not alone.
