Walk into Menards, pick up the wood handled set by Stanley/ Bailey about $80 or so. Comes with the leather roll to store them in. Will need sharpened. Decent set for the money.

Regardless of the ridicule … I find that the Windsor Design 6 Piece Wood Chisel Set #62641 from Harbor Freight is a fine set of chisels. I use them everyday! Just can’t beat $9.99!

Carlos,
you under priced your chisel. They are antique, should sell them at higher price… LOL

Ron, are those HF chisels true socket chisels or are they fake with a tine the size of small nail? I bought a set of chisels that look just like the pictures you posted at a garage sale for $1 and the tine snapped off pretty easily revealing that they were not really socket chisels. Yeah, I was abusing my $1 chisels but that’s what I bought them for.

Maybe keep and eye on the Aldi’s ads…..sometimes they do sell chisels

I own two sets….each were $6.99 + Sales Tax ( 7%.....)and Paul Sellers seems to like them…..

They are not socket chisels, however the tine is  larger than a small nail … these really are  decent chisels!

+1 on this. They actually work quite well. Aldi seems to put them out about twice a year. Paul Sellers has a good video on sharpening them. You will probably spend more on wet/dry sandpaper than what the chisels cost, LOL.

They’re ok. He especially likes them as a cheap starter set for students. The HFs are ok as well.

Screw the LN. Those alder handles will be hardened to about 60-62 rc. They can also be used as cold chisels. :)
