Topic tags/keywords: jointer rockwell 37-220 replacement knives

A friend gave me this 6” jointer. I think its from the 70’s. It was in need of some TLC, which I’ve done, but I would now like to replace the knives.

I’ve found copies of the manual online. While the schematic they provide shows the part # of the knife, nowhere does it state the size. Reading through threads in forums has not proven to be definitive: some posts contradict other ones.

Does anyone know the size of replacement knives for a Rockwell 37-220? I know it’s close to 6” x 5/8” (or 3/4”) x 1/8” (or 3/32”).

Since I’m in the midst of projects where I’m using the jointer I’ve been reluctant to pull the knives to measure them. I would rather source the right size and then remove and replace them in 1 step.

Would sure appreciate any insight you might have on this question.

Cheers

Pretty much any of the 6” (or even 6-1/8”) knives will work.

For example, here is a powertec set which states 6×5/8×3/32….

The Infinity set states 6-1/8×5/8×3/32

The actual Delta part number for the knives (37-659 or old #659) listed them at 6-1/8×19/32×3/32

Take your pick ;-)

Brad

Thanks Brad. I wasn’t certain how exacting the measurement had to be. You’ve cleared it up.
