I can buy an older machine (blue/aqua color) locally for $250.00. Looked at it and even though it is old it seems to be in good shape. I am trying to guess what it will cost me to get it in top condition. This will be my first bandsaw. I know the tires and belt need to be replaced. From what I have read, I probably will have to change the guide blocks. Any thoughts as to what this might cost and where I can get the parts? Without knowing more than this, does it sound like a reasonable deal? Thanks.

Obviously, I have not seen this bandsaw but, IMO, $250 is a little high for a used 14” bandsaw that needs some work. My rule of thumb is that most used tools should sell for about 50% of the price of a new tool if the tool is in good working condition. If the tool needs some work and some new parts, the price should be lowered accordingly.

New 14” band saws are available from the low $400s and up. Here is an example -

I don’t own this bandsaw but I believe it to be a very adequate saw and probably a good reference point for price.

Thanks. I made a mistake and the price is $200, not $250.
