I’m new here to Lumberjocks, but whenever I do a search for reviews, this site always comes up, so here I am. Does anyone know anything about the new Shop Fox w1820, I’m looking at buying this saw in the next few weeks, but I haven’t found any reviews on it. I know that it is completely similar to Griz’s go691, Leeson motor etc.. Any feedback would be helpful.

Well Mark, I bought it. Haha and it’s a great saw. Was very, very close to accurate right out of the box. I got the W1820 which has the extension table. I build a router table over the weekend and put it through the paces with dados etc. and it performed beautifully!! The cuts are crisp and the seams are virtually invisible, almost able for a glue up.

That is a sharp looking saw Waldo. If you put a decent blade on it, you should be getting glue ready cuts right from the saw…even something as generic as a 30T or 40T general purpose blade will accomplish that. Have fun!

Wow, Waldo, that is one sharp looking saw. I hadn’t given any thought to the Shop Fox line being updated and this is the first time I’ve seen the W1820. Use it safely and try to wipe that big grin off your face.

Interested to know what you think of your saw by now. I am getting ready to buy something and the 1820 is one of my options along with Grizzley.

Have your say...
