I’m still not to safe to be in the machine part of my shop – I twiddle a little, but not much. However, I’ve managed to set up a small hand tool shop in my spare bedroom. So I have my bench, chisels, planes, sharpening stones, rasps, saws, scraper, rulers, marker gauges and of course it’s full of imagination and enthusiasm to see what I can make with just hand tool. I’ve got some boxes lined up, but before I do much with them, I need to finish a cabinet and I’m thinking that might be hand done to.

The quite work of hand tools is a blessing for me right now. So I move forward with it and hopefully I’ll be able soon to do machine and hand tool stuff.

We’ll – just keep my health in your prayers. I appreciate them all.

Thanks al!!

Thanks Gary – have been cruising around on the site a bit today, sure is a lot going on. I’m getting better, but it slow, but I’ll get there.

With any luck once I get started with hand tolls, I’ll find out that they were my true calling and next thing you know Norm is calling me for advise. Now wouldn’t that be something!

Betsy good hearing from you again – I was wondering how you were doing. Keep the recovery going and I hope you get all of the joy you want out of working with the hand tools. Have you been able to work your regular job? Take care and get well soon.

Betsy,

Take care of yourself. Managing to stay involved in woodworking or anything else you enjoy while recuperating is an excellent form of therapy. Stay involved and post us some pictures, even if it is only shavings, so that we can participate with you.

Good luck and God bless.

Betsy,
Like I said in my intro, working with hand tools is like therapy for me. I think my blood pressure is lower, I feel less stress, and at least with all the quiet, you can think. I think when I get over this professional phase of my woodworking, I’ll go back to making everything with hand tools. Although looking at your projects, I don’t know if I’m ready to tackle any hand scrolling.
Take care and God bless.

Thanks all. Today is actually a good day, so there’s light at the end of the tunnel! I appreciate all your thoughts and prayers.

They say we are going to have snow in DFW tonight——people are on the news saying they want to get home before the roads get bad!!! You guys out in the real snow would get a good laugh out of us!
