I’ve given my junk wood, or weed wood, another try. This bowl turned out a little better looking and very lightweight as I left very thin walls and bottom. I also, of course, made a video:

Beautiful work on that bowl. Well worth the second effort. I liked the first turning as well. BTW, I think the bug holes add character.

Very nice work. I have many of junk wood pieces like this. I think it is the time to use all of them in a great way. Thanks for sharing the whole video.

I enjoyed the video. Nice work on the bowl.

With a cord of firewood and a bunch of fallen branches on the property, I can’t see when I would ever need to buy a bowl blank.

After years of table saw woodworking, my foray into woodturning has forever changed how I look at a piece of junk wood.
