I am wondering how I delete a post on the forums. I can’t figure it out.

The only way is to send a PM to Martin Sojka and ask him to remove it.

Would someone be kind enough to confirm if this is still the case please? I have posted something in error which I want to delete but there appears to only be an edit right which expires after an hour after which you’re stuck with your mistake!

Is this still true and if so, is there a reason for it, just seems a little odd to deny the poster the right to edit or delete their own contribution.

Many thanks

you are correct… you have an hour to delete a post after that, send us a message.

It was initiated to address an issue of people posting “nasty” stuff, long enough to cause problems and then deleting it.

send me a message with a link to the post and I’ll remove it.

Thanks for the response Debbie. The “error” was a picture that ought really to have belonged in the previous post along with the text that concerned it. Because I’m a newb to this forum I made a hash up of the photobucket process and wound up posting the image in a separate (though directly adjascent) post. Having reviewed it I’ve decided it scans reasonably well and still makes sense to anyone wishing to read it so I’ll not waste your time and bother to delete it after all.

I appreciate you taking the trouble to respond though :-)
