Topic tags/keywords: jointer question

I have a line on a 6” General Jointer for under $300
It seems like a pretty good deal and might be a good starter jointer for me.
It is a guy downsizing from house to apartment and selling off stuff, I got the info from a patient who works at LeeValley.
What do you think??

I have one and it is a rock solid heavy rugged smooth tool. I have mine on a mobile base and the fence does not get out of adjustment. Get the table extensions if he has them.

Thanks Rob, I will go have a look at it and see what shape it is in.
No way I could get a new jointer for anywhere near this $
