Topic tags/keywords: bandsaw purchase tool

There’s a fella selling one for $350 (possibly a bit less) on CL. (http://nashville.craigslist.org/tls/2215989258.html)

It is a discontinued model.

Maybe I’ll just keep waiting.

The scary part is that he talks about putting it back together to make sure it works. If it is in multiple pieces, I expect to get it for a song because chances are something is missing, broken or otherwise and I expect a huge discount for the huge headache. I would probably offer half what he is asking and expect him to get upset and stop negotiating but it is worth a shot.

The Grizzly manual for the G1538 is on their website. It’s a 16” saw. Girzzly has parts available too. For the money, it’s a good deal. Just have it set up and running before you pay for it. I have a Rikon 10-325 14” bandsaw and I paid a lot more than that for mine. I buy a lot of stuff from Craig’s List ads now. Check the Grizzly website and see what a 16” bandsaw (new model) is priced. Then you’ll have a better idea of what to offer him for it.

Grizzly doesn’t make a 16” anymore. They go from 14 to 17. There 14” Ultimate with a quick release blade tension lever for $450.00. You can get a 6” riser for it for $72.75. Which will bring it from 6” resaw to 12” resaw. I personally wouldn’t offer him half, When you can get one new for $450.00. I have the G0513×2 I love it. Just go to Grizzle.com to see..
