Topic tags/keywords: writing box question

I don’t know much about writing boxes or their portability. I taped together a cardboard model of the dimensions for a box that I designed. Is this too bulky for a writing box? The dimensions are 12” x 9 1/2” x 6”

I would think the design depends on the purpose of the writing desk. Does it sit on your lap? Is a flat top comfortable to write on? Is that size top big enough to write on? If the top is slanted, do you need a lip to keep things from sliding off. If it sits on a lap, do you need legs on each side to sit on a chair or couch or does it just rest on a lap? Lots of thoughts, but few answers. Good luck.
