I’m in the process of piping a dc for the shop an was wanting to know which blast Gates were better. I have a couple of metal Gates but will need a lot more. What’s your opinion on which to buy.

I like those (a lot), but if I needed a lot I would consider making my own.

Gerald, it depends. Do you have time or money? Time=make them and money=buy them. When I had money, those are the ones I bought and they they work well.

If I ever make any, this design looks like it would be easy to make and operate

I placed an order for a few of the Lee Valley self-cleaning gates yesterday.
Found some good reviews for them, price and shipping reasonable.

I did all Lee Valley self cleaning and do not regret it. I had non self cleaning in the past and will never go back. :)

There are a number of good blogs and pictures for making them. I posted a blog on how I built mine. I am using 6” DWV plastic pipe and did not like the fit of the metal gates.

Have your say...
