I have been using Shapton Glass Stones for several years now and love them. My 1000 grit stone is finally wearing a bit thin and I’m thinking it’s time to get a replacement. But…. they have dissapeared, on back order or out of stock every where I look. I understand the company has been sold. Does anyone have the inside scoop? Can we expect them to become available again? I have never used a stone I liked more (and I’ve tried a few) , does anyone have experience with a comparable product?

I really like my Sigma Power ceramic stones. I get them for this site

Good guy to deal with and very reliable.

Thank you Earl,
I’ve never heard of them before, they sound impressive. Turns out I found a Shapton 1000 glass on eBay
It will be shipped from Hong Kong for $12.00, I don’t know how they do that but…...
The replacement 1000 will hold me for a good long while, thank you for your response and new learning.
