Jerry; I remembered I could send pics here.
To all, this bowl of Palo Verde is from a piece sent to me by Jerry (in Tuscon).
Thanks Jerry. Hope I did it proud.
Jack

Who cares???? I care, Bill. heheheh

Jack you did a pretty darn good job. The tree I got this from is Parkinsonia Florida. We have 2 different PV’s in the Sonoran Desert area of the state.. Only the Florida has the streaks, while the other is pretty much like citrus trees. Bland yellow, without the streaks.

What are the dimensions?

Was it dry when turned? If it wasn’t, you might a little warp and shrinkage a little. Even so, it’ll make it look even better.

How long did it take to get the smell off of you?.

It looks like you used the TSS. ............... Jerry (in Tucson)

”!0” dia, 5 3/4 high. It was a little punky in the colored streak but 3 or 4 gallons of CA thin toughened it up.”

” It started to develop some hefty cracks as it dried. So I roughed it, then in Microwaved a dozen times. It was still a little wet when I got to the very end. It is pretty sealed now with several coats of rattle can lac.”

How long did it take to get the smell off of you?.

“Not long at all. I took a shower every time I worked on it! It wasn’t as bad as cottonwood IMHO.”

It looks like you used the TSS. ............... Jerry (in Tucson)

Having lived in Florida most of my life, I had never heard of Parkinsonia… although it does sound like a retirement community for elderly retirees with a particular aliment that would fit right in for this state… Had to go google it to figure out what you were talking about. Not what I thought :)

It do look purdy.

Cheers,
Brad

Didn’t know about this wood, now I do! Did know what Jerry would have to say about your bowl but again who cares. Jerry’s explanation about difference between AZ & Fl wood from those trees made sense. Who would have guessed?
