Topic tags/keywords: shopfox fence w2005 nonsmooth operation cranky table saw fence fence

Hi Guys,
I’m trying to renovate an old G1023S Grizzly table saw and am having a dickens of a time trying to get the fence (ShopFox W2005) to slide smoothly on the rails. I’ve tried adjusting, waxing, cleaning, and everything I can think of. I even bought a new rear rail since this was missing from the saw when I got it. Does anyone out there have any suggestions? It has some spring metal strips underneath the clamping mechanisms which I don’t see on the new ShpFox W2005 models. Could this be the problem? It also has several HDPE strips which ride on the rails. Could these be the problem. Help!

Did you ever get a response or otherwise figure out what the problem was?

Can you post a video of the issue so we might be able to see what is going on?

rbrjr1, sorry for the slowness in my response. I still haven’t completely solved the problem with the Foxshop fence on the Grizzly table saw. I’ve had to put it aside for a couple of weeks to get ready for a Christmas craft show that my wife and I will be participating in. I’ll try to get my act together soon. I did try adjusting the set-screws on the clamping mechanism. I think the two pieces underneather the clampling mechanism have been slightly bent and that is hindering the smooth gliding fence that I would like to achieve. I’ve received the replacement glider pads from Grizzly and will be installing them shortly. If all fails, Grizzly does carry a ball-bearing fence but it’s another $200.
Thanks a bunch for your interest in helping me!
