Topic tags/keywords: cl craigs list drum sander jet scam crooks scoundrels

THIS IS A SCAM. I just got an answer to my request for information. The email directs you to this site called “Mall of of Olympia” which seems to be associated with another scam called “Bradys Depot” . Pretty slick website. I wonder how many folks fall for it.

What’s up with this JET 22-44ODS Oscillating Drum Sander for $850 on CL? Amazon is selling it for $2200. I’m hoping someone can take advantage of this and it’s not a scam. -Jack

Yep, that is a crazy good deal if its for real. I would suggest a face to face transaction with cash, and bring a few friends.

Chris.

Geez, must’ve “fallen off a truck!” If it were in my area, I’d sell my 16-32Plus and get this one!

I’d second the above statement of cash and several strong friends since it weighs well over 300-pounds.

Yeah that sounds too good to be true. I paid $850 for my Jen 16-32 last weekend at wood craft.

Well, if you’ve got 460 volts 3-phase and the space, this might be a better deal. I’ve used this type before and they’re sweet. It will handle a 53” wide panel. Its designed for door or cabinet panels or window frames.
It holds three belts (different grits?) that are housed in the box above the slot. The work passes under the bottom rollers.

yea i found a whole shop full of tools for $1 on craigs list. turn out to be phony. when i called he actually wanted a couple thousand for it all. if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. i think craigs list should be monitored like ebay so this kind of thing can’t happen.
