I've been peeking through the window many times as I passed by and thought it might be nice to step inside the door and meet some of the patrons of this establishment. Please allow me to introduce myself as I step inside the door.

My name is David - if you forget, just see my username. I pose as a scientist by day and do my best to be a doting husband at night. I wish I could work wood, but as a novice, I'm afraid the wood works me. I'm eager to learn, and pathologically pursue perfection. My flaws as a human far outweigh any merits I might think I possess. I tend to live by some simple life rules taught to me by someone far wiser:

1. You don't tug on Superman's cape.
2. You don't spit in the wind.
3. You don't pull the mask off the ol' Lone Ranger.
4. And above all, you don't mess around with Slim.

For those of you that care, you'll likely get to know me much better as time passes - my condolences in advance.

As I pull up a chair to the bar, please let me share some of my first projects that have been fueled by many wiser patrons in this lounge.

Project 1 - benches for the shop:

Wood Rectangle Natural material Wood stain Plank

Project 2 - Tool Carts

Stool Wood Outdoor furniture Table Rectangle

The reason for their appearance:

Table Wood Gas Machine Engineering

And finally, the shop in it's current iteration:

Table Furniture Wood Floor Engineering

So there you have it. As I grab my pint I will thank you kindly for taking the time to get to know a little about me.

Good morning all and thanks for the warm welcome. Thanks for the tool cart compliment Jim - they're still in need of drawers. I promised the misses a wardrobe closet, and tool cart drawers will be my practice in perfecting that particular skill. So far I've been "perfecting" mortise/tenons, box joints, dado's (for those inset panels) and rabbeting, primarily freehand for tabletops (tool chests are 3/4" plywood where I got to try out my radius jigs and the homemade router table that used a Woodpecker template). I rather suck at the freehand stuff :-(

Woodbutcher - Vodka is a favored liquor with me, as is a good bottle of Scotch (particularly those varieties where you can smell the peat moss). I'm also partial to this beverage from my wife's homeland:

Bottle Liquid Glass bottle Drink Bottle cap

Heck I have been all over the world courtesy of Uncle Sam, I'll try some. Where is she from? My wife is Ukrainian.

My wife is Japanese. I'd say she's my better half, but the truth is she's my best half :)
