Well guys I have posted on here in the past about how my stomach hurts when I make a purchase. Well its hurting right now so I want your input and I hope you will tell me that I made a good purchase. I just bought a Grizzly 14” extreme series bandsaw. I hope this was a good purchase as I have posted a few times in the last couple days asking about different bandsaws. I got tired of searching around and have seen so many people on LJ’s talk so good about Grizzly that I decided to give them a try a few minutes ago. I went with the extreme series for the 1 1/2 hp and larger table. Anyway let me know what you think about my purchase and try to talk me into getting up the courage to buy the riser block haha

I ordered the 1hp version (polar bear) G0555P and received it last week. I absolutely love it! I wish I bought it a long time ago. Even the factory blade is decent. I did order a Timberwolf resaw blade but haven’t used it yet. I think you’re gonna love it.

Thanks for the response blockhead. I hope I didn’t go wrong by paying the extra for the extreme series with the extra hp. I have heard so many people on here talk about getting something you can grow into and not outgrow and I want to do some resawing with it so I hope the extra money will be worth it. If you don’t mind me asking, about how long was it from the time you ordered it until you recieved it?

Tell your stomach to ease up. Not only is Grizzly a good product, they have one of the best customer service departments in case you should need them.

I ordered mine on Monday morning (last week). They said it would take 24-48 hours to process the order and 3-5 days for delivery. It was delivered Wednesday afternoon, less than 72 hours later from the time it was ordered.

I can’t imagine you won’t be anything but stoked with your purchase. Relax, you made a good choice.

That is the Lexus of 14” band saws… You should be happy with it… I have heard some issues with Grizzly shipping lately, they tend to keep a pretty short supply chain, but once it gets in your shop, your stress level should go WAY down… I have a few items from them and they are all top notch…

Thanks lilredweldingrod. I am feeling a little better but I know I won’t feel great until I am able to make some sawdust with it. The wait is the only bad part about buying online. I really liked the Rikon but they were backordered at most placed and I think I am getting more saw for my money with the grizzly but I guess only time will tell.

I have an older one with a riser block. Takes a 105” blade. Am very happy with it and tech support has been good.

I have many Grizzly tools and am satisfied with all of them. The band saw is one of my best buys. Don’t know how I got along without it.

Just one thing…. Did you order another blade for it? I don’t know about everyone else, but the blade that came with mine wouldn’t cut warm butter. Get an Olson (should be able to pick one up about anywhere) or a Wood Slicer (from Highland Wood Working. I’m sure there’s more out there. Good luck.

I just received my Grizzly 14 (polar Bear series) about 2 weeks ago. I thought about going with the extreme series, however funds were tight so I stuck with PB. It came within 3 days, and I absolutely love it. So far it has been everything I wanted. You made a good choice.

Thanks guys for all of the responses and I feel better already. I haven’t ordered a blade for it yet because I will probably order the riser block as soon as I get my hands on the saw so I will probably order the blade then since i’m sure it will take a 105” blade with the riser.

Blake—I don’t think you have anything to be nervous about.

I don’t have a Grizzly band saw, but I do have other Grizzly tools and I can tell you that I have been pleased with every order I have placed with them, the products have always measured up, and every experience I have had with Grizzly’s customer service and tech support people has been first rate.
