Topic tags/keywords: makita black decker jig saw jigsaw

long time lurker here and first time signed up since I need a push.

I had/have $20 jigsaw that didn’t serve me well while it was working but I managed somehow. Now threads where you fix the blade are gone. I tried to make new threads with thread cutter so I can “fix it” haha but I broke the thread cutter somehow and it is fixed in the hole. I could easily drill through and try with thread cutting again but decided this is a sign from the universe that I need a new jigsaw.

Since I am 6 years older and I also have a little bigger belly and budget.

So I narrowed it down to two within my budget.

Black & Decker JS680V

Makita 4329K

Any comments appreciated

I’d choose the Makita, but only out of brand loyalty (I love my Makita Drill) I know nothing specific about either saw.

I don’t know anything about these saws, but the B&D has a tool free blade change. I have a tool free blade change on my Bosch and I love it. I don’t know if it is the same system but it says it uses the t shank blades like mine does. Hope this helps.
