Topic tags/keywords: question finishing

I was wondering if mineral spirits or denatured alcohol are Ok to wipe down the surface prior to applying finish such as arm-r-seal, what do you guys do to remove dust before applying finish?

thanks as always

Robert, I use either one to wipe the dust off before applying poly. Neither will cause any problems with the topcoat application.

I vacuum the piece and then wipe it with mineral spirits. It works great.
