Need to find someone that will allow be to borrow a 4 jaw chuck 1×8.
Had stroke and just now beginning to turn again.
Sold shop to pay med bills but have re-acquired many things but need a chuck until I can afford to get my own.

Hey Stan, I have been turning for about 6 months now and I still haven’t gotten a chuck. You could always do what I do and glue your work piece to a waste block. I turn the outside of my bowls with a faceplate and then CA glue a piece of a brown paper bag to a waste-block then glue my work piece on that. I don’t know what you are wanting to turn (bowls, pens) but this method works pretty good for me. Best of luck to you. Post up some pics of some of the things you’ve turned. We’d love to see em.
