This is my first time using any kind of a forming bit on the CNC. I am using a 3/4 diameter, 1/2 shank, 3/8 radius point cutting roundover bit on 1" red oak. Can anyone give me a starting point speed and feed for this material?

Unfortunately I don't have any experience with that type of bit.

There also, are several factors that go into answering your question.
How many flutes? How many RPMs? How many IPM?
Is this a Roughing bit, (Can go faster), or a finishing bit?
How aggressive will your cuts be? (How deep per pass?)
What kind of chip load can your machine handle?

Some trial and error may also be involved.
Typically a 3/8" diameter, two flute bit in Red Oak would run between 100ipm and 300ipm.
Too slow, and you will burn the bit. Too fast and you could break the bit. (Or stall your motors, if running on steppers)

There are charts you can get from the tool mfg's that may give you a good starting point.
