I’ve been researching using the Kreg bandsaw fence on my Shop Fox W1706. From the compatibility list it looks like it requires drilling the table for installation. The notes say that stock fence mounts under the table but the fence on mine is mounted to holes in the front of the table.

Has anyone here installed the Kreg on a W1706 and can answer my questions?

Thanks,
Jim

I put a Kreg fence on my bandsaw, but my table had two threaded holes on the face of the edge so I drilled one new hole in the Kreg fence to line up with the threaded holes in my table. Forgot… my saw is not a W1706, it’s a Craftsman 14”.

I asked this question 6 months ago and received no answers, including from Kreg so I decided to answer it myself.

If anyone is interested, yes it fits the Shop Fox 1706 14” band saw perfectly with no modification to either the saw or the fence. I bought and installed mine this afternoon.

Surely I’m not the first 1706 owner to ask this question of Kreg, but it is not on their compatibility chart. The only Shop Fox models they have require drilling and difficult mounting arrangements. I’m going to call them and let them know but I doubt they’ll care.

Glad it was an easy install.
I have the Kreg fence on my Jet JWBS14-OS.
I don’t recall having to drill any holes.
Mine works good, hope you enjoy having it as much as I have.
