I would love to have a jointer this big, but my shop is not big enough for this sucker! seems like a good deal if in working order.

Somebody beat you to it, saw it a couple days ago on here somewhere. I certainly would like to have that but it would be a bear to move, I have a 12” Crescent and its ~1600lbs. it was difficult to move alone without wheels!

A few years back I couldn’t resist what I thought
was a bargain on a pre-war 16” jointer from
Germany. It’s still in pieces as I don’t have the
space to set it up and use it.

Machine in question:

That is somewhat of a curiosity… I wonder if OWWM Rule #1 isn’t at play. The catalog for J.A. Fay shows that the smaller 8, 12, 16, 20 and 24 inch models have the table adjustment handwheels under the tables at either end, while the larger machines have them in front like the one being sold above.

All of the pictures for the 16 inch models at the VM site also show the handwheels being at the ends, not in front like the one being sold. I also note that none of them have the rabbiting ledge like the one in the ad. Regardless.. someone is going to get a pretty sweet deal for that jointer.

Cheers,
Brad
