Okay, being that it is one month into the New Year, got a question. How many of you still are keeping to your New Year’s resolution?

I am happy to say, I am still on track. (sort of) Okay, it’s a slow track but it’s still moving forward. My New Year’s resolution was to start to do more woodcarving in the workshop and to teach other people. What I mean is share the joy I get from the art of chip carving. I have been working on the shop to get it in order to make my own blanks and to teach classes. Have a class coming up on March 19 at a local carving supply store.

Okay, Let’s here it.

At first glance I misread the first sentence of your second paragraph, and thought it said “I am happy to say, I am still on crack.” I was thinking, “Wow….that’s some New Year’s resolution!”

Seriously, though, I don’t do the New Year’s resolution thing. I try to spend at least a moment every day thinking about whether there is anything in my life I need to change. When I find something, I need to jump on it right then and there. If I put it off until the new year, I’ll find a way to talk myself out of it.

I guess I am on track also. I didn’t make any resolutions so I haven’t failed to keep any resolutions either.

I always resolve to make no resolutions, so I fail every year.
