I’m looking at possibly buying some plantation shutter kits. I know Rockler makes the jigs necessary to do it yourself but I just don’t have the time to plane\cut\rout all the wood for 7 windows.

Has anyone had any experience with online shutter kits? I see a couple out there when I search but not sure if one is better than another.

Also, my windows are typical double hung windows and the shutters will be mounted to the window casing (outside mount). The casing around the windows is (what I consider) very typical in that it is thicker on the outer edge and tapers thinner toward window.

I’m unclear exactly how you mount the shutter frame to the tapered casing. Most pics I see show the frame mounted square, as if you mounted against a flat wall, not against the casing, which would make it angle toward the window (follow the taper of the casing).
