Ridgid R4121 used Miter saw

I have had one for several years and have had no problems with it – I did buy a good frued blade for it to use when cutting “quality” projects. Id recommend that saw – if you really want one

would you get this or get a sliding model?

I have the 12” slider. The only complaint I have is the size of the footprint and you HAVE to have a minimum 4 feet from the wall to use it. It needs a lot of room. If I were to get another slider, I will go with the Makita.

Sorry – I was wrong – DUUUUUUUU – Mine is also a slider – yes it does takes a lot of room for its footprint – I do store mine on a home made box about 28 or so inches square about 8 inches tall that rides on casters. I store this sliding miter saw on top of this mobile box (storage inside of this box for accessories) (with the saw rotated on about 45 degrees) under the wing of my table saw. I have a table that i dedicate to the miter saw when a big project comes along – sorry for missing that you asked about a “non” slider – my bad

If you decide to get the Ridgid, think about the mobile stand. It is much handier as a set.
