Sawstop just shipped their 100,000th saw and to celebrate they are giving away a free Industrial Cabinet Saw. Just visit their website for details and to enter the drawing.

I am certain that all of the Lumberjocks who constantly berate Sawstop and the founder of the company will refrain from entering.

Too bad the warranty isn’t transferable :-(

I guess you could still get a pretty penny for a new one on CL though, even without the warranty <evil-grin>

Cheers,
Brad

I just filled out the winning entry form so the rest of you ought to not waste your time entering this sweepstakes.

More recently, he forced another equipment company to stop selling a blade break technology that is superior to his.

Of course not! There is nothing I would like better than to take advantage of a weasel like Steve Gass. After all, he paid government lobbyists to try to take advantage of all woodworkers by forcing them to purchase his technology. More recently, he stopped Bosch from selling a table saw with superior brake technology to his. What irony it would be if I won one!

When you quote me, please quote me correctly (smiley face emoji). One of the lines from your reply slipped its way into the apparent quote of my text.

I recall you prior comments about Gass. Do you also have a grudge against George Cayley? He invented the seat belt and now we all have to buy them and use them in our cars not to mention in airplanes (Cayley’s main field of invention). (another smiley face emoji goes here. I can never get them to work on this site).

My grudge is president Woodrow Wilson, who in 1913 signed the income tax law. We all have to pay them and use them in society today.

Excellent point! How about the guy who invented the ground fault circuit breaker? Around here you can’t build or remodel a bathroom without installing one of those higher priced breakers. I have never dropped my hair dryer in the bathtub while sitting in it and I don’t plan to do so in the future. Who says I have to get a GFCI?

Who sits in a bathtub and uses a hair dryer, anyway?

I’ve always wondered that.

I won a SS in a drawing a few years ago. Didn’t use it so I sold it and bought a bunch of stuff I did use. Then someone gave me a 25-year-old Craftsman TS that is not fun using. So I think I’ll enter this contest and see if I can make it 2-for-2.

Question: Do you have to pay a “prize” tax similar to the Price is Right?

Prizes are treated like taxable income, if that’s what you’re asking.

Any guesses on what your tax liability would be, please let us know:

  • My calculations are this 20% tax bracket; $3000 saw = $60 tax*

Therefore, I am not interested….
BUt, I sure hope that a Lumber Jock who wants one or needs one will win.
