I have turned a base and finial for a hollow form I am working on. They are made from walnut and stained with an Ebony oil base stain. I planed on using Shellawax cream as a friction polish but is says not to use on oil base stains. Has anyone tried this and did it work. Would a sander sealer before the polish help.
Thanks
Al

I might try thinning this stuff to seal before using shellwax. You can apply light thin coat like any other friction finish.

Good luck with it.
