I’ve had a six inch Delta Jointer that I bought from a guy who refurbishes old WW tools for $250. The jointer was built in 1945 and has served me well for about fifteen years. A while back I was walking around my neighborhood and saw that one of my neighbors was having a garage sale including woodworking tools. Turns out the guy had a small cabinet shop in his garage. Most of the tools were gone by the time I got there. Mostly what he had left was cabinet materials, ply wood and such. But… what he also had was an eight inch Delta Jointer (37-380). When I asked him how much he wanted for it he said he really just wanted to get rid of it so he wouldn’t have to move it to Arizona. He asked if I would pay $250. I told him that I only lived a few doors down and didn’t have the ability to move it, would he deliver it for that price? He jumped on it and within 30 minutes I had it in my shop. I then sold my old six incher on Craig’s list for….. $250 two days later! Did I do good?

My kind of swap. Did he just push it over to your house on the mobile base?

No, he rounded up a few buddy’s and loaded it on his truck. Good thing, that puppy is heavy.
