Good or Bad for the woodworker? My thoughts; it will be good for the woodworker; quality and price will remain the same and even improve.

Hard to say, I looked at two Super Max drum sanders few years back. Bit out of what I was willing to pay, as well as being larger than I have room for.

I have used a Languna Bandsaw some 15 years ago. Had the salesman not been so snotty when I asked for a walk through of first time set-up I might have bought it. As it was I went down to see the JET guys and I walked away with a 17” drill press and 14” Bandsaw with mobile bases for $750 cash. AND got walked through 1st time set up for both machines. Not needing a BS since I have never really shopped or looked at the Wood Working show. No sense in wasting the guys time if I have no intention of buying.

Don’t figure much will change.besides sleeker design and color change (because we all know that is what sells products).

Honestly can’t see it being bad as not like it was Stanley Black and Decker that acquired it.

Super Max being bought by Black and Decker. That would be like putting YUGO emblems on a Ferrari…..

Thanks for sharing the link, DW. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out. I’m anticipating a positive result, but time will tell.

Oh know, I own a supermax sander and I’ve had nothing but crappy customer service from Laguna.

I’d have to agree with a A1Jim

I have bought a drift master band saw fence and a 1’’ wide Re-saw King blade from Laguna. Talked to them about buying a jointer from them. The people I had contact with seemed a bit unprofessional, not that knowledgeable about there product and not good at returning phone calls. One salesman made a couple of cracks about my existing equipment I didn’t appreciate.
