Topic tags/keywords: resource doug fir frame panel chest of drawers

When you have a nice big pile of barn wood? A project came up about a year ago. Involved about 5-6 drawers. Kind of tall. Not much money in the budget. I did have a nice pile of barn wood though

A few cuts here and there

And a frame of sorts appears. A few more to make some web’frames

Then some assembly:

Next, to top things off, maybe a frame to hold a top:

And maybe a top ( 1/4” luann) in the frame:

Well that was all I got done that Saturday. Be back with the next installment later, IF anybody wants me to.

I want you to come back later. I think it is fun and enlightening to watch a project evolve.

You say this is barn wood. Is it pine? In the last picture it looks like you have 2 different kinds of wood. Do you know what they are?

The wood; mostly Doug Fir. There is some pine from old trim boards ( made nice drawer parts) and the corner posts came from a corner post of 4”x 6” oak/ash ( not sure which) that I resawed into the posts. I’ll be back tomorrow with more of this little project.
