Hey LJ’s,

I’ve been working hard to get outside maintenance while weather and work allow it. will be making and shaking some projects as the weather cools and I go into the shop.

Wanted to share with any folks who respond to my postings that the wife of a fellow LumberJock who was always supportive of fellow woodworkers like me and a master of walnut needs our support. His name was Bob Putman, but he looked like Grizzly Adams hence the name Grizz.

There is a posting as his tools are being sold in Alabama. Long way from where I live. (MN)

A1Jim posted a forum topic a few days ago. Jim established a GoFundme account for Bob’s wife. Saw it in his forum post as she has no income and is also ill.

Jims post http://lumberjocks.com/topics/239537

It happened in April and I thought it was him doing an April fools Joke on me. We were Skyping and he was positive as he had gotten an electrical stimulator which was suppose to neutralize his pain implanted, He Skyped me on Saturday Morning said he had overdone it, and I did n’t have time to talk as I had to get to Mankato to see clients. Sunday there was a posting from his long time friend. couldn’t believe it.

I’m short of money due to low client turn out and sick animals but I gave 10 bucks.

I thought it was well known, but it may not be so.

Can you help?

Thanks

Tom/aka DocSavage45

Hey Tom
I really appreciate your post and hope others are able to squeeze out even the smallest contribution ,your a good example of someone who didn’t have a lot of spare funds and perhaps you’re a little short on funds but still gave.
I hope others can follow your kindness.
Jim

I hade no knowledge that Grizzman has passed last April and I am truly shocked and saddened. Carol and I had the pleasure of visiting with Grizzman and Susan at their Verbena home a couple of years back. It is one thing to type to people online and a completely different experience when you are able to enjoy meeting them in person. Grizz & I got to hang out in his shop while Carol and Susan stayed inside and chatted.
I gave Bob one of my boxes and he gave me a nice walnut board.
We skyped occasionally and during our last skype session he talked of the nerve stimulator that he had high hopes for.
You are missed my friend…

Greg,

Seems we just don’t take notice, because we all have a lot going on. He loved his walnut. LOL!

Hi Tom, since I haven’t been back in the workshop for some time, I have been missing off here. Very sad news, but thanks for the heads up.

Thanks to all who have helped by buying some of Bob’s tools and donating to his gofundme account those who haven’t yet donated please consider a donation to help Bobs, widow, any amount will help.

Whenever I think of our dear friend Bob (aka grizzman) I always think of his great sense of humor and then this photo comes to mind, RIP my friend
