I’m building a small shed to hold our trash bins. Plan is to have two hinged lids, one for each can. so that the cans can be accessed from the top when depositing trash.

My wife is on the shorter side and would have some difficulty bringing the lid all the way open with one hand.

Is there some sort of exterior-rated lift, such as on a hatchback or storm door that I could install for this purpose?

What about a foot controlled lift? Something like this:

An auto part store will hav many different types of lifts that are used on car trunks and hoods can be used. Probably need a low poundage one. When I was looking for replacement ones for my tool box they had some that were 200+ pounds Doubt u need that heavy of one
