I have a new Rikon band saw I purchased 6 mos ago. I love the machine and don't know how I lived without one before. My only gripe is the bandsaw guides. They are a pain to adjust. They don't stay as I put them. The lower guides are a pain to get at. I am trying to decide whether to get the Rikon band guide upgrade kit which allows for tool-less adjustment or spring for the Carter bandsaw guides, which can be purchased with a tool-less option also. The Rikon upgrade kit goes for about $150 and the Carter guides go for about $209. I would like to do some resawing eventually. Has anyone had experience with either product?
nutmegger13, Bought the same saw. BOUGHT the up grade guides and really love them. Not hard to put in and really save a lot of time changing blades (5 min avg).
