This is going to be a dumb question, but I found a cool source for lumber in Southeastern NC I’d like to share but I don’t wanna come across as advertising for them? Is this allowed?

Its for reclaimed river wood from the bottom of the Cape Fear river and its going to become some awesome tabletops in the near future.

Lemme know if providing the site would be alright. Thanks!

If it’s not “advertising” (and it sounds like you’re NOT advertising), then … IMHO … you’re fine.

Here are the rules

WELCOME to LumberJocks !

Would Wood & Lumber be the correct forum? Is their a specific format?

This community looks like a great learning resource for me and at the risk of sounding like a sissy, I don’t want to accidentally get kicked out for being an idiot.

That’s the right forum.

Don’t worry about format too much. Tell US all the things YOU think YOU’D want to know (about a project, a lumberyard, a tool, a book, etc., etc.), in the best way YOU know how to tell it.

People will be grateful, and will freely ask you questions, if they have any !

Gotcha. Thanks for the info. I’ll wait until I actually have something going project-wise and then toss it out there. Right now its more of a “oh, what I could do with THIS” kind of thing but the wheels are turning.

Fresh back to the shop after a 10 year hiatus so not going down the super-complex path until I get reacquainted
with my tools.

Since I am going to Florida shortly and stopping by southeastern NC would be an option for me, I sure hope you will tell us more about this wood and where one can buy it.
